About

I’ve pretty much been riding bikes ever since I can remember.  My mom likes to brag that I learned to ride without training wheels at an early age, but with tools like Striders these days, I’m pretty sure that 1 yr olds kick my ass.  Late in High School I decided that I wanted to be more like my mom’s little brother who rode and raced bikes.  I entered a mountain bike race my senior year and had a great time.  I wasn’t exactly hooked, but I liked the challenge that it presented.  When I got assigned a roommate in college who also dabbled in bikes, I was all in!  Races, clubs, out of town trips and race promotion would follow for the next 10 years.  After reaching Cat. 2 on the road I decided that I didn’t have time (management skills) to train and race as much as I would need to progress further and scaled back on the racing.  Cyclocross has always been near and dear to my heart, and I like that it takes a little less time to train to be competitive (locally at least).  The last few years I’ve been trying to dedicate myself to becoming faster in the Elite ranks and do some traveling to race.  This always proves challenging to balance with regular life and work, but so far 2010 has been my most consistent training year ever and I’m excited as the season starts!  At the end of the day, I’m just a kid out having fun on his bike.  My best friends and memories come from cycling.  Check back to follow me through the season as I head towards Cyclocross Nationals in my home town of Bend, Oregon!
